Mini cakes on sticks dipped in chocolate and decorated with fondant, candy corns, pretzels

The holidays are a chance for you to let your creativity shine. What better way to do that than to create adorable little edible turkeys that everyone, kids and adults alike, will absolutely love! Keep reading for this super simple recipe we found from Good Housekeeping.

Gather Your Ingredients!

  • 1 8-inch chocolate cake
  • 1 cup of frosting
  • 2 cups of milk chocolate chips
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Gingersnap cookies
  • Florist’s foam
  • Candy corn
  • Melted chocolate
  • Candy eyeballs
  • M&M’s
  • Twizzlers

Make Your Filling

Put the chocolate cake into a stand mixer using the paddle attachment to break it up into small pieces, or crumble the cake by hand in a large bowl. Add frosting and mix to combine. You should have a thick, doughy texture. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Refrigerate for about 1 hour to firm up.

Next, The Coat

Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Dip one end of each lollipop stick into the chocolate and then into each cake ball. Place back on the baking sheet and refrigerate for another five minutes. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate and swirl to coat entirely. Let the excess drip off and lay the chocolate-covered cake pop on a gingersnap cookie allowing the top of the cookie to show above the cake pop like a turkey tail. Place the pop into the florist’s foam to setup.

Faces and Feathers

Use melted chocolate as glue for the feathers and face. Glue candy corn pieces to the gingersnap in a fan pattern. Place the candy corn tip-up like feathers. Add the candy eyes. Cut a yellow or orange M&M in half for the nose, and cut a small piece of Twizzler in an L shape for the wattle and glue to one side of the nose.
