The Missouri Botanical Garden is gorgeous any time of year, but for the holiday season, it takes on a whole new light after sundown. Make plans to visit the garden after dark to see it shine for the annual Garden Glow!
When and Where
Garden Glow will run from November 23 to January 4 at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The garden lights up between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. The MBG is located at 4344 Shaw Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63110. Admission prices vary by date and membership, while there will be special family night discounts on December 4, 11, and 18.
Illumination in the Garden
The garden will shine in its holiday best, as more than one million lights will brighten up the grounds after dark. You can explore starry tunnels, a shimmering forest, or a cozy hedge maze, or just bask in the glow of the garden’s magnificent blue centerpiece.
Special Greetings
On Monday and Tuesday nights from now until December 17, children can meet Santa Claus at the garden. If your family has never seen St. Nick in person, a magical night surrounded by lights is the ideal occasion (and a perfect photo opportunity). Food and Drink
You can grab a bite to eat at the Sassafras Café or Café Flora, with a selection of soups, sandwiches, salads, and more. The weather will be right for a classic cold-night treat, and you can enjoy hot chocolate and s’mores as you explore the glowing garden pathways. Grown-ups may also enjoy a cup of hot chocolate flavored with their choice of amaretto, Fireball, or peppermint.
Holiday Flower and Train Show
Tickets to this event also allow access to the Gardenland Holiday Flower and Train Show, which runs until January 1. Six indoor tracks lead colorful model trains through a winter wonderland of seasonal foliage. The space will be filled with hundreds of different plants, showcasing the beauty of the garden in a whimsical new way.
